Supporting American Workers
The big elephant (and I do mean Republican elephant) in the room with respect to job loss, clearly arrived in the form of Ronald Reagan. I remember the day in the early ’80s when Ronald Reagan stood against the airline controllers and with large corporations. In so doing, he fired the airline controllers. That began the down hill slide in labor unions and began the era of business treat employees however they wish. That mindset was cultivated in both of the Bush administrations. Now we can see where that mindset has gotten the workers of this country. Our country is in desperate shape and we must have some method of forcing businesses to treat workers legally and humanely. While I know that unions aren’t the ideal way to achieve this, they see to be the only way in our current environment. We simply don’t have that many ethical businesses in this country that we can assume they will treat their workers fairly.
